We celebrated Krishna jayanthi and Ooriyadi in our school on 11th August 2017.The programme started with Krishna songs by students representing each group such as Kalidas, Bharathi, Meera and Tagore and Smt.Kamala Ramanathan lighted the lamp. Sri.Srivallaban, MSW, HR in Sundaram Auto Components was the Chief Guest and graced the occasion. The Chief Guest as well as the audience were welcomed by our Assistant Correspondent Sri.Ramanathan. The girls of III STD to V STD performed a beautiful dance welcoming Lord Krishna. Our tiny tots adorned the dais dressed up as little Radha and Krishna. Our Chief Guest honoured the winners of Quiz Competition related to Quit India Movement which was conducted in our school on 9th of this month. While addressing the gathering, our Chief Guest highlighted our commitment towards our culture and narrated the story of Lord little Krishna who stole the whole butter from the pot without the notice of anyone.
Then, it was time for the much awaited Ooriyadi Celebration which was inaugurated by our chief guest by allowing our little Krishnas and Radhas to have an attempt to break the well decorated pots swung on the poles. Later, girls of 12th STD and boys from 4th STD to 12th STD took part in breaking the pots in full swing and enthusiasm irrespective of the classes. The programme came to an end by Shanthi Mantram.
In the afternoon,the students recited Ashtotharam and girls from III STD to V STD enriched the occasion by performing a series of dance related to Krishnaleela and made the day a remarkable experience to the audience.The programme came to an end by Shanthi Mantram.
