Annual Day
38th Annual Day and G.K. Shetty Memorial Day was celebrated in a very grand manner on 7th January 2017. The programme commenced with prayer by 5.30 pm. Smt. Padmaja Ramana lighted the lamp, Sri. T. Chakravarthi Vice President, VES, Sri URC Devarajan, M.D, URC Construction (P) Ltd, Sri. D Srivallaban, Head of HR operations, Mentor Printing and Logistics, Alumnus, GKSVV, Rtn. KV Ramana Shetty, President, were the guests of honour. Our Correspondent Sri. S. Gopalakrishnan welcomed the august gathering. In annual report Smt. S. Usha Rani, Principal, GKSVV casted light on the achievements of the academics and extra-curricular activities. A wonderful group song “Vande Matharam” was sung by our primary students.
In his address, Sri. T. Chakravarthi, Vice President, VES narrated a few incidents from the life history of Sri Ramanujar. General proficiency prizes were awarded for the XI toppers. Students who have participated in SGFI Chess Competition received a cash award of RS. 5000 each. The best outgoing students were also honoured. A book of 9 short stories written by our upcoming authors was published by Sri D. Srivallaban on that day.
Sri. URC Devarajan gave a speech about “Cleanliness”. Sri.D.Srivallaban told that the school is a home and saluted this school for making him a great man and then thanked the teachers. Smt. Shantha Shettty honoured Smt. Mythili Venkatesan who completed 20 years of service in our Vidyalaya by awarding a gold coin. Smt.Shantha Shetty Amma gave staff token to Smt. G. Pushpalatha and Smt. Asha. Kumari Abhirami and Smt. Bhagyalakshmi gave token to school. Sri. S. Gopalakrishnan, our Correspondent explained about the “Child Adoption Scheme”. To commemorate the millennium year of Sri Ramanujar our students displayed a scintillating cultural feast hailing the glory of Sri Ramanujar named “ Sri Yathiraja Vaibhavam”.
