VIGYANA PRADHARSHINI   REPORT   2018-2019

     “SUCCESS IS A SCIENCE; IF YOU HAVE THE CONDITIONS, YOU HAVE THE RESULT.”

                          Science, Maths and Computer science competitions were conducted on different  categories and in different levels ( Sishu, Bala, Kishore and Tarun ) to develop scientific, mathematical and computer skills among  students. More than 500 students participated in Science Experiments, Science and Maths quiz on 16 .06 . 2018. On 23 .06 .2018, Science and Maths Exhibits, Science , Maths  and Cultural Paper Presentation on different topics was also conducted in our school premises . More than 250 students  participated in it at all levels.

               Competitions on Computer science project were conducted on 27. 06 .2018 and 28.06.2018 for the classes VI to X std , in which around 50 students participated . Prizes were given to the winners who secured  I, II and III places in the competitions.

Vigyana Pradarshini 2017-18 (Maths, Science & Computer Science Exhibition)

Vidhya Bharathi, Tamilnadu and Vivekananda Educational Society conducted Inter-school Vigyana Pradharshini, Science, Maths and Computer Science Exhibition on 7th July 2017 (Friday) at G.K. Shetty Vivekananda Vidyalaya Junior College, Ambattur. Around 10 schools from in and around Ambattur took part in it. 250 students from other schools and 300 students from our school competed in science exhibits.  Chief Guest Sri. Dr. P. Sudhakar, M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D, Joint Director, CPR Environmental Education Centre inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. Selvi.S.Periyanayaki of Class XI delivered a speech on Bhaskaracharya and enthused the students. It was followed by unveiling the logo by our chief guest. In his address Sri. Dr. P. Sudhakar, thanked the school for giving him an opportunity to address the youngsters, who are going to contribute to our nation in future. He said that 0 is introduced by our Bharat and we should be proud of our Mathematicians like Bhaskaracharya, Ramanuja and Aryabhatta. He appreciated the students for maintaining the school clean and green. He invited our school to compete in the ‘Green School, Green Teacher’ award which is conducted by Environment Sector every year.  He also asked our school to participate in NTL, Which is sponsored by WIPRO. It is a competition about Nature, Bio-diversity and Water Conservation.  He stated the specialty of 7th July which is Mahindra Singh Dhoni’s Birthday. He asked the students to be a leader like him who can fight and win across. Eminent Judges from various departments were introduced.

Valedictory function started at 3.30 pm with prayer. Sri Ramanathan, Assistant Correspondent, GKSVV and Correspondent, Round Table Vivekananda Vidyalaya, Agaramel welcomed the Chief Guest Dr. C.S. Tharadevi. Head of Department of Zoology (Retd) Sree Ayyappa College, Nagercoil, Smt. Shanthi, Principal, Balaguruva Chettiar Vivekananda Vidyalaya, Veerapuram and the august gathering. Selvi. Mercy Rollaine of XIstd delivered a speech on Sir. C.V. Raman. Smt. Lakshmi, Maths Faculty,Co-ordinator of Vigyana Pradharshini briefed about the competitions and thanked the schools for their cooperation and support. She said that more than 4000 people visited the exhibition and enjoyed. The   Chief Guest Dr. C.S. Tharadevi addressed the gathering. She asked the students to keep their home, body, breath, mind, heart and all the parts of the body clean. She asked the students to dispel the negative energy from the body and fill with positive energy. The First, Second and Third prizes were distributed to the outside schools in all the levels Shishu, Bala, Kishore and Tarun. The programme came to an end with Shanthi Manthram.

 

Science & Maths Expo 2015-16

Vigyana Pradharshini was inaugurated by Dr. N.K. Udhaya Prakash, Associate Professor, VELS University, Pallavaram, Chennai by lighting the kuthu vilakku.Principal, Smt. S. Usha Rani gave the welcome speech and also she blessed the future scientists. Followed by this, children presented the cultural programme on Mathematics. Dr. N.K. Udhaya Prakash gave the excellent speech to motivate the students. He told the importance of our culture and how the science and maths is interlinked with our Bharathian culture.                                           

There were nearly 350 participants from our school and 250 participants from 11 other schools who had participated. Children also entertained the parents by various programmes.  Pre-primary children demonstrated the importance of trees which is connected with 27 Nakshatras and their medicinal uses. Children gave programme about the life history of Sri.Ramanajur.

The Doctors from the ESVEE Hospital, Ambattur and Priyadharshini Dental College, Thiruvallur District joined hands with our school for conducting a free dental camp and also B.P. and Sugar checkup. 753 Peoples were benefited through this camp .The book stalls were also opened by various publications for the benefits of the students.

Valedictory function was presided by Dr. B. Sankaran, Asisstant Professor, Presidency College, Chennai. He motivated the students by saying about the noble prize winners. He insisted the students to love Mathematics. He also added that if they are strong in Mathematics, they will be strong in all the fields. The prizes were distributed to our school students and outside school students for the various levels .The programme ended with Shanthi Manthram.

Ganit week celebration

To commemerate the birth anniversary at Shri Srinivasa Ramanujam.We have celebrated the Ganit week.[Growing aptitude in numerical innovation and training] in our school premises.

Inaguration of Ganit week

On 16/12/2014, the inauguration of Ganit week was commenced. Our Asst. Correspondent Shri. R. Ramanathan welcomed the chief guest and the gathering and honoured our chief guest Smt. Seethatlakshmi. Impressive cultural programmes like shape dance, tableau (mathematicians) were given by our tiny tots. Smt.Seethalakshmi in her presidential address said that we must kindle the in born curiosity of the children by asking puzzles and riddles. The session was very interesting and enlightening .. The Programme came to an end with Shanthi mantram.

Topic essay compeitition date 17.12.14

On 17/12/2014,ESSAY WIRITNG COMPETITION “ As the laws of mathematics refer to reality, they are not certain and as far as they are certain, they do not refer to reality”. We have conducted essay writing competition on 17/12/2014. The following topics were given to the students 1. PRIMARY LEVEL ( III TO V ) Life History of Srinivasa Ramanujan 2. MIDDLE LEVEL ( VI TO VIII) Contribution by Ramanujan in the field of Mathematics. At Primary level 73 students participated and 86 students participated at middle school level. Winners were felicitated in the valedictory functions.

Topic quiz compeitition date 18.12.14

On 18/12/2014,QUIZ PROGRAMME As a part of Ganit week we organized Quiz programme for III to V & VI to VIII as two levels.The students participated with high energy, spirit and enthusiasm. The participants and the audience enjoyed the programme and were very cooperative and made the programme a grand success.

On 19/12/2014,EXPERIENCE SHARING ON INNOVATION BY TEACHERS AND STUDENTS The programme Experience sharing on innovation by teachers and students was organized in the school assembly. Three teachers and 13 students from Primary and 13 students from Middle level were given opportunities to share their views on innovation method.The best three were selected in each level. Students were motivated highly by the programme

On 20/12/2014, SCREENING OF FILMS PRODUCED BY VIGYAN PRASAR We screened 1. The life history of Srinivasa Ramanujam 2. Unit circle song 3. Trigonometry values for cosine and sine 4. Square root of a number 5. 3 in every where for IX Std students between 2 .30 pm and 3.30 pm. Students were inspired by the life history of Shri.Srinivasa Ramanujan. They enjoyed the film show well.

On 22/12/2014,ORIGAMI AND POSTER COMPETITION - This competition was conducted on 22/12/2014 in our school premises. The topics given to III to V Std students are Puppy, Cat, Twin house, Pen holder, Rabbit, Whale, Flower pot, Hat and Boat. More than 25 students participated enthusiastically. They enjoyed and learnt more and they used their creative thinking skills.POSTER MAKING COMPETITION - Poster making competition was conducted for VI to VIII students. The topic APPLICATION OF MATHEMATICS IN DAILY LIFEwas given to them. 67 students took part in this competition. The winners of the competition were awarded with prizes.
