Independence day

72nd Independence day and Sri Aurobindo Jayanthi celebrations were conducted with unprecedented patriotic fervour on 15th August 2018 in our school premises. The programme started with prayer. The chief guest Dr. Sathish Babu, Diabetologist, K C Hospital,Avadi,hoisted the Tricolour flag and offered flowers to Bharat Matha. Dr. Vengal Rao, Alumnus, Gksvv, Orthopaedician, Dr. Rabindranath Health Care, Ambattur, released the first copy of “Viveka vani”, our school magazine and the same was received by the chief guest Dr. Sathish Babu, Diabetologist, K C Hospital, Avadi. In his address, Dr. Vengal Rao, Alumnus, Gksvv, Orthopaedician, Dr. Rabindranath Health Care, Ambattur, appreciated the way of releasing Vivekavani, our school magazine. He also asked the students to remind the sacrifices made by our great freedom fighters. In his address Dr. Sathish Babu, Diabetologist, K C Hospital, Avadi advised the students to fix a goal and work hard to achieve it. National song competition was conducted in our school premises on 4th August 2018 to inculcate the patriotic spirit among the students. Prizes were distributed to the winners. This was followed by culturals. J.Prasanthi of IX std delivered a speech on Sri Aurobindo which was enlightening. A group song was rendered by our nightingales. A display on various asanas by our students enthralled the audience. Dance and physical display by our tiny tots and middle school students were highly impressive. The programme came to an end with national anthem. Sweets were distributed to the students and also to the parents.
On the same day Bharat matha Pooja was performed in 40 different places in and around Ambattur and Avadi. The students who were in and around that particular area attended the function along with their parents. They offered flowers at the feet of Bharat matha and exhibited their patriotic fervor. The students also sang Bharathiyar songs and spoke about national leaders. The Pooja came to an end with shanthi manthram.
